 Executive Profiles

François Schiltz studied medicine at the University of Nancy (France) and has since accumulated over 30 years a vast experience in the pharmaceutical and diagnostic industry. He has a solid track record of senior executive positions in the healthcare industry in Marketing, Sales and General Management. From 1963 until 1975 he worked in senior managerial positions for Ciba, Ciba-Geigy and Boehringer Mannheim in Europe, Africa, the Far East and the United States. From 1976 to 1986 he was Delegate of the Board of Directors of Chemaropa Basel Ltd. and partner of the healthcare consulting firm Vauthier & Partner Ltd.(Switzerland). Between 1986 till 1997 he was an independent healthcare consultant to various pharmaceutical companies such as Sandoz, Boehringer Mannheim, Beiersdorf, Teva, Medeva, Zyma and Goemar. From 1997 to 2002 he was Vice-President of the European Foundation for the Advancement of Medicine, an NGO that developed several healthcare projects together with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the European Commission in Brussels. In 2003, he returned again to healthcare consulting. In 2004, he set up a limited liability company called Schiltz Health Care Consulting GmbH where he acts as the managing director.

Dr. Gisbert Sponer studied veterinary medicine at the University of Hannover (Germany) and has since accumulated a vast knowledge as executive in the pharmaceutical industry and professor at the University of Heidelberg. In 1969 he joined Boehringer Mannheim as a member of the scientific staff in the department of experimental cardiovascular research. Shortly afterwards he graduated as expert in Pharmacology and Toxicology before being appointed in 1985 as lecturer for experimental Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Heidelberg. In 1987, he was promoted as Head of the department of experimental cardiovascular research and bone metabolism at Boehringer Mannheim. In 1992, he was nominated assistant professor for Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Heidelberg. In 1997, he started to work as an independent preclinical project leader and advises major pharmaceutical companies on regulatory topics. Dr. Gisbert Sponer is medical director of the Schiltz Health Care Consulting GmbH.
